Another amazing year of Grant Awards...
In May 2011, the Lincoln School Foundation awarded almost $50,000 for seventeen different grants sumitted by teachers and staff from both Lincoln and Hanscom campuses.
These grants, all of which will be underway in the 2011-2012 school year, include:
- Colleen Pearce, Lincoln School Art Teacher, collaborating with the 2nd Grade team, will be revitalizing the tradition of the 2nd Grade Puppet program.
- Terry Green, Science Enrichment teacher for the District, has received two grants to enhance the science curriculum for students in grades 1, 3 and 4.
- Gwen Blumberg, Literacy Specialist is tackling the District's on-going writing initiative by developing a mentor text program for the Literacy Centers.
- Nancy Rote and a team of her Hanscom colleagues are bringing a celebration of the music, dance and culture of the Caribbean with Viva Salsa!
Take a few moments to read about all of these exciting programs and more inside our newsletters. These grants reflect the great initiative and effort taken by teachers to broaden their knowledge and enhance classroom learning, artistically, culturally, physically, and technologically.
Meanwhile, our Fall Fundraising Drive is well underway. Take advantage of the opportunity to donate on-line. Also, don’t forget the Honor-A-Teacher & Staff (HATS) program to recognize the teachers and staff who contribute so much to your child's education. This is an excellent way to thank faculty for a great year of learning while contributing to the important work of the LSF. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
